CHRISTMAS GIVING FAIR

Hope Church congregations will be bringing HOPE to partners in Chicago and around the world this Christmas. You and your family and friends are invited to choose one or more of these projects. This is the season to GIVE and GIVE THANKS. 


There will be collection boxes for donations in the lobby of Hope Church LaGrange from November 6-16th.

GIVING FAIR SHOPPING LIST

Use the suggested shopping list below to purchase items for the Giving Fair on Friday November 18th where you can participate in projects for multiple ministries in one night! You can drop off a toy for a child in need in Chicago, fill a shoe box to be sent to a child overseas, or fill a gift bag for a person in need. We will have donation bins in the lobby of Hope Church LaGrange from November 6-16th.

    OCC SHOPPING LIST: 


    DO NOT include candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items, scary or war-related items (such as toy guns, knives, or military figures), chocolates or food, seeds, fruit rolls or other fruit snacks, drink mixes (powdered or liquid), liquids or lotions, medications or vitamins, breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers, or aerosol cans. 


    DO INCLUDE

    A "WOW item": Doll, soccer ball (deflated with air pump), stuffed animal, musical instrument


    A Personal Care Item: Comb, hairbrush, toothbrush, washcloth, colorful bandaids, reusable plastic container (fill with hairbows, bracelets, sunglasses, etc.), flashlight w/batteries, mirror


    A Clothing Item: Shirt/pants, underwear, shoes & socks, flip-flops, hat/scarf/mittens, small purse/wallet, hair bows, baseball cap.


    A Craft/Toy Item: Pencils/colored pencils, crayons, markers, coloring pad/book, notebook, stickers, playdough, jump rope, nerf ball, playing cards, etc.


    A Personal Note: You may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself, your family, or your group. If you include your name and address, the child may be able to write back!


  • winter care packages for refugee children

    Winter can be a shock for families that have just arrived in Chicago from warm weather climates. There is an urgent need for warm coats, hats, and gloves/mittens for refugee children. We have received a special request from two of our refugee service providers for children's coats (sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL) with matching hat/gloves. Packages of children's socks and underwear are also needed. ALL items should be new with tags still attached.
